The Point object form and its functions are utilized for managing point objects as described in the relevant chapter. Unlike standard point objects, loops/coils are created differently. Users can either draw loops/coils while digitizing a cable route or connect them to an existing cable afterward. To do this, one must access the KeyCom menu, select Point object, and fill in the Type, Length, and Usage state fields. The loop/coil's length is then added to the total cable length. After clicking Create, users should choose "Follow a line" in the Drawing options window's Snapping menu. By holding the SHIFT key and clicking on the cable, the loop/coil can be placed accurately. The Following cable window displays the distance to the cable's start and end points, and if the Length checkbox is selected, the loop/coil's length is included in the cable's total length.

The Point object

Loop/coil
A loop/coil is not created in the same way as other point objects. You can draw loops/coils to the cable route when you digitize a cable or you can connect a loop/coil to a cable afterwards by taking the following steps:
- In the KeyCom menu, click Point object to open the Point object
form. - Enter the information in the fields: Type, Length, and Usage state. The length of the loop/coil is added to the total cable length on the Cable form.
- Click Create.
- In the Drawing options window that is displayed, in the menu for Snapping, select Follow a line.
form.
- Hold down the SHIFT key and click the correct point on the cable with the left mouse button to place the loop/coil.
- You can see the distance to the cable’s starting and ending point in the Following cable window in the Lengths field. If you have selected the Length checkbox, the length of the loop/coil (if provided) is added to the cable’s length.
