Article summary

GDPR is the new General Data Protection Regulation of the European Union. Its purpose is to protect the privacy of users and change the companies’ mindset and measures related to data protection.

With the GDPR, two new user groups have been added to the system. The new user groups are GDPR_NORMAL_ACCESS and GDPR_EXTENDED_ACCESS, which are included in the default user groups (see chapter Available user groups in KeyAqua). By default, only the users in these groups are authorised to access customer data.

Private–restricted customer type

In addition, a new customer type has been added to the system to accommodate the changes required by the GDPR. The name of this new group is Private–restricted. Access to data related to this customer type is restricted to users who belong to the GDPR_EXTENDED_ACCESS user group.
